Women are on the front lines of World War II from day one, like these firefighters trying to contain the blaze during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.I adore this one, not just because it's all women, and because they're doing what was inevitably seen as exclusively men's work when they did it, but also because they look like a group of Americans: black, Hawaiian and/or Asian, possibly a white woman.
