Today, many blogs and other internet sites are going on strike in protest of the heinous SOPA/PIPA legislation. There is a great primer on the legislation here.
If this legislation passes, sites like Shakesville will be put out of business. That is no exaggeration. The White House does not support this legislation, but we need to make sure it never even makes it to the president's desk. Go here to contact your congressional representatives. TEASPOONS AHOY!
Although many sites are going dark today to raise awareness about SOPA/PIPA, Shakesville will be replacing daily features with reminders to teaspoon, in order to underline what this legislation would do to content at your favorite internet spaces—that is, eradicate it.
