"Governor Romney supports the Violence Against Women Act and hopes it can be reauthorized without turning it into a political football."—Romney campaign spokesperson Andrea Saul, who "declined to specify which version he supported."
So much LOL at sending out a female spokesperson to address Romney's "support" of the VAWA, and more LOL at failing to acknowledge of what, exactly, that support is constituted, now that Republicans have turned the reauthorization of VAWA into a big fucking fight because of new provisions for icky things like protections for same-sex couples and undocumented immigrants, and additional LOL at the implication it might be someone other than members of Romney's party who turned federal protections for abused women into a "political football."
Failfecta!
