Just a Regular Reminder That the Scoundrels Destroying the Country Are as Embarrassing as They Are Wicked
I don't even know where the hell to begin with this one, so let's just dive right in: A report* in the Wall Street Journal details how, during the 2016 election, Donald Trump's then-attorney Michael Cohen paid John Gauger, the chief information officer at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, to rig online polls for Trump and create a Twitter account purporting to be women who found Cohen sexy.
Yes, that's real. And it only gets worse from there, as Gauger claims that he was owed $50,000 for his work, but instead Cohen handed him "a blue Walmart bag containing between $12,000 and $13,000 in cash and, randomly, a boxing glove that Mr. Cohen said had been worn by a Brazilian mixed-martial-arts fighter."
WHAT.
Cohen denies Gauger's claim about the cash in the Walmart bag, saying that all payments to Gauger "were by check." He did, however, confirm the rest of Gauger's claims, telling CNN: "What I did was at the direction of and for the sole benefit of Donald J. Trump. I truly regret my blind loyalty to a man who doesn't deserve it."
For crying out loud.
* The Wall Street Journal article is behind a paywall, but Jamie Ross has a good summary at the Daily Beast.
