Sometimes when I post a photo like this one, people ask me how I capture the dogs making such great expressions, expecting me, I suppose, to say I'm holding up a treat or a toy with the promise of playtime. But I virtually never "ask them to pose" for pictures. I just see them doing something cute naturally and reach for my phone as quickly as I can, lol.
In this case, I'd just swung around in my office chair and stood up, asking if the dogs wanted to go out, because I needed a 10-minute break to walk around the garden, and Zelly just bolted upright from where she was lying next to my desk and put on this adorable grin in response. :)
